Being even slightly dehydrated—as little as 2% of normal fluid loss—takes a toll on energy levels. Your body is made up of 70% water. Your bodily functions depend on adequate hydration.
How much is enough? Mayo Clinic recommends an average of 3 liters of fluids daily for men and almost 2 liters for women. That's pretty close to the often recommended eight 8-ounce glasses per day.
Your body requires more hydration if you exercise, are in warmer climates, are breast feeding, or have other health conditions. So do your body and mind a favor, grab something hot or cold to drink at your next break!
