If you only have two minutes, go to your happy place with this guided meditation on Akimboo!

Have you been working hard and feel like you still have a long list to do?
Before you do something silly, take time to restore yourself with a micro-retreat. Immediately!
With little or no prep time and with just the stuff you have on hand, you can gift yourself quality pampering!
The list will wait while you take a little time to become a better person.
That’s right. I’m telling you to take care of yourself.
Drink a tall glass of cool water. Give yourself permission to shift into a different state of mind.
Recipe for Head to Toe Micro Retreat
1. Play relaxing instrumental music. ('Alexa, play relaxing piano music.') For extra bonus, spritzer the air with a smell-good essential oils diffuser.
2. Drink a tall glass of water. Extra retreat bonus if you add a slice of cucumber, lemon, or fruit.
3. Take a leisurely hot shower. Bonus if you take a lingering soak with baking soda, salts, or a big splash of vinegar.
4. Lotion yourself up judiciously after your shower. Rub vaseline into your heels and any rough spots before you put on your comfiest yoga gear.
5. Creativity bonus if you spend five minutes journaling. (see below for a de-stress journal prompt)
Journal Prompt: Imagine your secret garden
-
What does the rock wall surrounding your garden look like?
-
What does the ancient gate to the garden look like?
-
Describe the fresh air and tranquil sounds as you walk through the gate into your garden.
-
Explore the woods, streams, and footpaths. What do you see?
-
Find a perfect spot in your garden for meditating, relaxing, and napping. How soft is the mossy ground?
-
This is your secret garden with endless possibilities. You can return to your sanctuary any time you need a mental recharge.
Carry this self-care with you thru the rest of the day. Check in to how you are feeling.
Watch how you feel more patient and receptive to your immediate circle of family and colleagues. And don’t be surprised if people notice you seem more relaxed!
